ISTD Medallists’ Day – April 2014

Huge congratulations to Members of Karen Hardy Studios who performed outstandingly once again at the ISTD Medallist Competition on April 6, 2014.

It was a fantastic day of intense competition and extremely high standards and we are immensely proud of each and every one of our team, who made the trip to Gillingham.

Furthermore, we are delighted to confirm that three members of Karen Hardy Studios have danced their way into the Grand Finals of the ISTD competition in Blackpool – the Mecca of Ballroom – in November this year.

In the adults competition Marika won 4th place in the Silver Quickstep and 1st spot in the Pre-Bronze Rumba and Alex Bartholomew secured 4th position in the Social Dance Test Waltz and 5th in Social Dance Test Cha-cha-cha.

Moreover Eleonora Economides had great success by winning 1st place in the Bronze Jive and securing 4th position in the Bronze Tango.

In the wonderfully exciting kids and juvenile contest there were 79 entrants in total – this bodes well for the future of ballroom.

In the Waltz section of the Social Dance Test level, Charis Leto reached the top 20 and dancing their way into the top 30 were Lalita Sarkhel, Phoebe Martin, Caitlin Martin.

Meanwhile, Lalita Sarkhel and Caitlin Martin made the top 20 and Charis Leto, Phoebe Martin the top 30, of the Social Dance Test level of the Cha-cha-cha.

These are truly fantastic achievements – a massive ‘well done’ to everyone who took part.

The next ISTD Medallist Competition will take place in Maidstone on July 6, 2014 and the top six entrants from each category will qualify for the ISTD Grand Finals at The Winter Gardens, in Blackpool, from November 1-2, 2014.

For details about registering, please speak to your dance teacher.

Another date for our dancers’ diaries is the ISTD Exam Day at Karen Hardy Studios on May 18, 2014.

This is your chance to dance for the next stage of your progression programme in front of an ISTD examiner, so please discuss this with your teacher.
